NextEnergies and ICAVI are two companies at the area of energy generation through biomass burning. NextEnergies is the represent of ICAVI in Europe, and already performed four projects in less than three years of existence. These projects are spread in different regions of France, all of them with certification CE.


ISIGNY – Boiler 20T/H – 30BAR

ISIGNY Saint Mère is a French dairy cooperative located at Normandia’s region that produces about 230 millions of liters of milk by year. It produces a lot of products derived from milk, as: cheeses, butter, milk powder and others.

Aiming the substitution of energy production by gas to a green energy, the cooperative ISIGNY Saint Mère decided to equip itself installing a boiler that uses wood as fuel, in this case becoming the first company of scale to use wood as principal energy source. This energy is used at its industrial process.
A complete installation of energy production was provided with the following features:

• Power installed: 15 MWth;
• Capacity of steam production: 120 000 tons of steam by year;
• Operating pressure: 30bar;
• Fuel consumption: 45 000 tons of wood by year.

The installation is divided in four principal blocks: fuel storage, steam generator, system for gases treatment and automatic extraction of combustion ashes. The storage block of fuel is made of four silos, making a total volume of 1000m³ each silo, equip with mobile bottom that makes the wood moves till the conveyor belt that takes the fuel till the boiler. The steam generator is constituted of one mix boiler watertube/firetube by mobile grid and two heat exchangers to optimize the maximum of the installation’s efficiency. At the system for gases treatment, we have one multicyclone and one baghouse, what guarantee an excellent quality of the gas sent to the atmosphere. The ashes generated by the burning process are extracted automatically from several points of collect.

The installation is completely automated, since the fuel storage till the gas’s evacuation by the chimney and its operation is controlled and supervised for one PLC, so, it needs a minimum number of employees.

The plant is operating more than one year, without any problem and with great results. The costumer is satisfied with the nice work and with the economic advantage that this plant represents, beyond the contribution to the environment due to the great reduction of the green gases released to the Ozone layer.


INGREDIA – Boiler 25T/H – 30BAR

The group INGREDIA located at North of France develops and markets a great range of products derived from milk for nutritional industrial or purposes, destinated to the principal sectors of food industry.

INGREDIA acquired a installation to the production of 25t/h of saturated steam with 30bar of pressure, generating a power of 20MWth. With this, INGREDIA became the biggest generating plant of power through wood burning of the agrifood industry in France.

The complete installation has a storage of 1000m³ for a consumption of 49 000 tons of wood by year, it’s a mixed boiler firetube/watertube and with two heat exchangers to raise to the maximum the installation’s efficiency, one multicyclone filter and one baghouse for an ideal gases treatment of the flues, one exhauster and one chimney.

As at ISIGNY, it operating is totally automated, controlled and supervised by one PLC, needing few employees.

The plant is working for ten months with great results and generating an important economy to the client, as well contributing to the nature.


ARCHIMBAUD – Dry Burner 10GCal/H
EO2 –Dry Burner 8GCal/H

The companies Archimbaud and EO2 are two important factories of granulated wood in France. They use waste from the sawdust to the manufacture process of granulars.

The manufacturing of granulars is made through the drying the sawdust in a rotary drying. So, Archimbaud and EO2 decided to equip itself with a generator of hot air based on wood burning of 12MWth and 9 MWth respectively to adaptation to one rotary drying aiming to make the sawdust drying.
The complete installation provided from NextEnergies / ICAVI is made of one dry burner and of its automatic extraction system of combustion ashes. The whole installation is controlled and supervised by a PLC.
The plants are operating for almost one year, without any problems. The clients are very glad with the nice results obtained, and with the technical solution implanted and also with the great economy made on the fuel.
